Green Meadows Baptist Church was formally organized on July 23,
1967 with Rev. Alvis C. Cheshire being called as the first pastor on
July 30 of that year. The church met at different locations while
building their first permanent structure on five acres of land which
remains the location of the church today.

| The first structure was built largely by volunteer
efforts of its first congregation and finished in time to hold services
in December of 1967. |

| Since that time, Green Meadows has undergone much growth and
development. The original Sanctuary now serves as an educational
building. Additions of a picnic structure, larger Sanctuary, and
Fellowship Hall with upper-level classroom spaces have been made over
the years. |
